A Victorian era romantic fantasy full of big emotions, published in The School Magazine over three years. It follows the fortunes of a dog and a cat blessed with the power of speech who eventually become members of a troupe of traveling players. There is death and tragedy, sighing and laughter, dollops of malice, high ideals, duty, lost loves rekindled, massive coincidences and a cast of hundreds (well, dozens anyway).
